Sequence of Operation - Standard and Options

SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS

Automatic Opening Mode

When a laboratory technician is sensed in front of the fume hood, the sash will open in less than 3 seconds to an open position of 18-inches ±1 inch. The user will be able to manually move the sash to a higher or lower position without releasing any type of sash locks. Once NO object is sensed in front of the fume hood, the control module will delay 60 seconds (adjustable), then slowly close the sash in less than 10 seconds. If an object is sensed in the path of the sash, the control module will immediately stop the sash and turns on a sash interference light. To re-open the sash, the user has to be sensed in front of the fume hood, this will activate the ASPS and reopen the sash. Once NO object is sensed in front of the fume hood, the control module will delay, and then slowly close the sash.

Push Button Opening Mode:

When a laboratory technician is sensed in front of the fume hood, and the “Push to Open” button is activated the sash will open in less than 3 seconds to an open position of 18-inches ±1 inch. The user will be able to manually move the sash to a higher or lower position without releasing any type of sash locks. Once NO object is sensed, the control module will delay 60 seconds, (adjustable), then slowly close the sash in less than 10 seconds. If an object is sensed in the path of the sash, the control module will immediately stop the travel of the sash and turn sash interference light on. To re-open the sash after the object has been cleared, the user has to be sensed in front of the fume hood and activate the “Push to Open” button, which will reopen the sash. Once NO object is sensed in front of the fume hood, the control module will delay, and then slowly close the sash.

Option #A – Standard ASPS-SS unit (with Sash Stop) and an Audible Alarm:

Same as standard ASPS-SS unit (with Sash Stop) with the addition of an audible alarm. This audible alarm will sound when there is an object in the sash path causing the sash to stop.

Option #B – Standard ASPS-SS (including sash stop) with Half Sash / Full Sash Selector Switches:

Same as the Standard ASPS-SS unit with the addition of an Extra Preset Opening Position. The Auto/Push Button Selector Switch will have four positions: Auto Full Sash, Auto Half Sash, Push Button Full Sash and Push Button Half Sash.

Option #C – Standard ASPS-SS (including sash stop) with Full Open Sash as Standard Height:

Same as the Standard ASPS-SS unit with the standard opening height of full sash. The user can manually open and close the sash once opened. When the sash automatically opens or the user opens the sash with the Push Button, the sash will open to the full open sash position.

Option #D – Standard ASPS-SS (including sash stop) with up to (4) Preset Open Heights:

Same as the Standard ASPS-SS unit with the option of up to (4) preset opening heights. The user will be able to switch the selector switch up to (4) preset opening heights (4 auto heights and 4 push button heights).
